Bangaluru: ‘Kalamsat-V2’, the world’s lightest satellite developed by a group of students, launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikkotta, Andhra Pradesh at 11.37 last night. This is the first ever mission by Indian Space Research Organisation in 2019.
The satellite will be utilised for the Defence Research and Development Organisation purposes. Kalamsat is created by students and Chennai based Space Kidz India.
To reduce weight,aluminium tank is used and the nano satellite weighs only 1.26 kilograms.
