Srinagar: Armed security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Poonch region of Jammu & Kashmir. It was launched after the Army was informed by the local residents of suspicious people in the region carrying out certain activities.
The Army said that they began investigation in Purani Poonch and Jernali Mohalla of the Poonch region. Two schools in the region were also shut down because of the operation.
Earlier on April 20, five soldiers were martyred after a conflict with terrorists in Bhata Dhurian. After the incident the army has been maintaining high alert in the region. The army also clarified that Operation Trinetra is progressing in Rajouri.
