New Delhi: President Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed their warm wishes on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day. Celebrated on June 2nd every year, this day marks the formation of the youngest state in India.
Prime Minister Modi, in his message, expressed his heartfelt greetings to the people of Telangana, acknowledging the state’s remarkable progress and vibrant culture. He praised the skills and talents of the Telangana populace and admired the rich cultural heritage that the state encompasses. The Prime Minister’s message also emphasised his prayers for the well-being and prosperity of Telangana.
President Murmu, in her own statement, joined Prime Minister Modi in extending warm greetings to the people of Telangana. She commended the state’s journey of growth and development since its formation and praised the indomitable spirit and resilience of its people.
The President said in her tweet, “My greetings to the people of Telangana on Statehood Day! Endowed with forests and wildlife, Telangana is also uniquely blessed with a rich cultural heritage and talented people. This beautiful state is emerging as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship. My best wishes for the continued growth and prosperity of Telangana.”
Telangana emerged as an independent state in 2014 after being carved out of Andhra Pradesh. The process to achieve separate statehood commenced in 1952 and reached its culmination on June 2, 2014, when K Chandrasekhar Rao was sworn in as the inaugural Chief Minister of the newly formed state.
