Indian airstrikes: Mehbooba Mufti’s loyalty divided

Jammu & Kashmir: While India is celebrating the success of airstrikes against JeM’s biggest terror camp in Balakot town in Pakistan, Mehbooba Mufti’s tweet cast a shadow about her loyalty to India.

The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir tweeted that she hoped that objectives of both India and Pakistan have been served. She refused to support the Indian airstrike openly while sending signals of supporting Pakistan’s version of the airstrike.

In her tweet the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader said, “Post pre dawn strikes carried out by IAF, conflicting reports coming in. Official communique by FS claims that terror training camps were bombed while Pak denied this & said that the planes made a hasty retreat after being spotted. Hope objective of both sides has been served.”

Mehbooba Mufti has been turning up the heat against the Central Government since the Supreme Court listed for hearing pleas challenging Article 35A.

While Indian leaders cutting across party lines congratulated the Prime Minister and the Indian Airforce, the Tweet from Mehbooba Mufti has led many to question her allegiance to India.
