Thiruvananthapuram: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made online updation of Aadhar documents free until June 14, 2023. Usually, it costs a fee of ₹50 to update the Aadhaar details. However, till 14 June, updating demographic details online via UIDAI’s official website will be free of cost. The free services started on March 14, is now almost in its last phase.
The UIDAI has made it mandatory for all to update the Aadhaar details every 10 years. Moreover, the Centre has also issued guidelines for the updating Aadhaar details for children. As per the guidelines, users need to furnish all biometrics for updates when the child attains the age of 15 years.
While updating the Aadhaar card, the users need to ensure the accuracy of the documents linked with the Aadhaar. Users can also update the demographic details online by submitting the required documents and visiting the Aadhaar enrollment centre to update biometric details. People can also avail the service from Akshaya Kendras in Kerala by paying Rs 50 in service charges.
