Srinagar: The Indian Army foiled a major infiltration attempt by terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machil sector of Kupwara district. The Army launched a search operation in the area after the infiltration attempt was foiled. During the operation, the army seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition, along with Pakistani currency. The security forces acted based on the intelligence inputs regarding the possibility of infiltration.
In a separate incident in Rajouri, a terrorist was killed in an encounter in the last week of June. Following an extensive search effort that spanned several hours, the body of the terrorist, who had been shot and fallen off a cliff, was eventually recovered.
