New Delhi: The central government has carried out a significant bureaucratic reshuffle that encompasses the intelligence wing, the anti-terror agency, and three crucial Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS). As part of this reshuffle, a dozen senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers have been elevated to the positions of Special Directors and Special Directors General.
Among the twelve officers, six “hard-core officers” have been promoted as Special Directors within the Intelligence Bureau (IB), while the remaining officers have been designated as Special Directors General in the Border Security Forces (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). All of these officers are from the 1989 and 1990 batches of different cadres.
The Central government’s most trusted and dedicated 1989-batch IPS officer of Utharakhand cadre, Safi Ahsan Rizvi, and five other officers have been promoted as Special Directors in the IB from the post of Additional Directors.
The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Monday approved these appointments following the proposals received earlier from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
