Kupwara (J&K): Four terrorists were killed in the Kala Jungle in the Machhal sector of Jammu and Kashmir in a successful joint operation conducted by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. These terrorists were attempting to infiltrate from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, according to J&K police.
On Thursday night, in the Jumagund area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, the security forces intercepted a group of terrorists who were well-versed in guerrilla warfare from their experiences in the Afghan-Pakistan theatre. Their objective was to infiltrate Indian Territory. However, the joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police thwarted their plans, resulting in the elimination of all four terrorists.
In a separate incident on Thursday, the Anantnag Police arrested two individuals associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the Bijbhera area of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with their arrests, the police recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition, which includes ₹ 1 lakhs in cash, 12 AK-47 rounds, and a grenade. The Anantnag Police have taken appropriate legal measures by registering a case at the Bijbehara police station.
Furthermore, on June 16, in another major operation, joint security forces successfully neutralised five highly trained foreign terrorists belonging to the JK Ghaznavi Force (JKGF). These terrorists were attempting to infiltrate Indian Territory near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jumagund area of Jammu and Kashmir.
