Paris: Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched down in France on Thursday, commencing his official two-day visit. The distinguished Indian leader was greeted at the airport by French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, extending a cordial welcome. The airport reception included a grand ceremonial gesture befitting the occasion.

During his stay, PM Modi is scheduled to participate alongside French President Emmanuel Macron as the Guest of Honour on April 14 for the French National Day celebrations in Paris. Notably, an esteemed tri-services contingent from India will join the Bastille Day Parade, while the Indian Air Force will showcase an impressive fly-past during the event.

This year holds particular significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of the robust strategic partnership between India and France. The two nations have forged close cooperation across a multitude of domains, including defence, space, civil nuclear, the blue economy, trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people ties. PM Modi expressed his anticipation for the visit, highlighting its unique importance in his departure statement.
