Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat, commencing from Thursday, during which he will unveil several significant projects. One of the key highlights of his visit will be the inauguration of Gujarat’s first greenfield international airport, situated near Rajkot city.

The airport, located in Hirasar village near Rajkot city, is all set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on Thursday afternoon, as stated in a release by the state government. It is expected to bolster connectivity and facilitate increased international travel in the region.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will also address a sizable gathering at the Race Course Ground in Rajkot. From there, he will dedicate packages 8 and 9 of the Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI) Yojana. The successful completion of these packages will have far-reaching benefits, providing water to 52,398 acres of irrigable land in 95 villages and supplying potable water to around 98,000 people residing in the Saurashtra region, according to the release.

In addition to these projects, the Prime Minister will inaugurate an overbridge and a newly-constructed library at the venue.

On the second day of his visit, Friday, the Prime Minister will proceed to Gandhinagar, the state capital, to inaugurate the ‘Semicon India 2023’ exhibition. This event will showcase cutting-edge technology related to semiconductors, highlighting the state’s focus on technological advancements.
