New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the focus of the New Education Policy (NEP) on providing education to students in their mother tongue. On the occasion of the completion of three years of the NEP, he mentioned that the ‘Gyan Kumbh’ exhibition witnessed participation from a large number of students from various parts of the country, and the NEP has been geared towards promoting education in their mother tongues.
In connection with the third anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam’ at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. During the event, the Prime Minister interacted with children and adults and observed their displayed projects.
Addressing the gathering at the educational convention, PM Modi emphasised that the National Education Policy is shaping the future of India in the 21st century. He stated that education holds the power to change the country’s destiny and is essential for achieving the nation’s goals. The Prime Minister expressed that it is an injustice to judge young individuals based on their language instead of their talents.
The NEP 2020 was launched under the vision of the Prime Minister, aiming to nurture the youth and prepare them to lead the nation during Amrit Kaal.
The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, spanning over two days on July 29–30, serves as a platform for academics, policymakers, industry representatives, teachers, and students from various educational institutions. The participants share their insights, success stories, and best practises for implementing the NEP 2020 while formulating strategies for its further advancement. Sixteen sessions have been planned for the convention, covering topics like access to Quality Education and Governance, Equitable and Inclusive Education, Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups, National Institute Ranking Framework, the Indian Knowledge System, Internationalisation of Education, among others.
