Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in promoting the cultural heritage of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand during the 103rd edition of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme. He listened to the broadcast along with PM Modi’s ‘Swanidhi’ family at the CM’s residence. CM Dhami praised the Prime Minister for making Mana village’s ‘Bhoj Patra’ famous among pilgrims.
In the programme, PM Modi mentioned the heart-warming letters written by the women of the Neeti-Mana valley in Chamoli district. He acknowledged the impact of his appeal to the country’s first village, Mana, which led to pilgrims purchasing products made of ‘Bhoj Patra’ and other local items at good prices. ‘Bhoj Patra’ is an ancient heritage of Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand, and the state government is committed to preserving and promoting all aspects of its cultural heritage.

PM Modi shared that the women of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand had sent him a unique artwork on Bhojpatra last year, and these women are now crafting beautiful artefacts and souvenirs from this traditional material. The PM had previously appealed to tourists visiting Uttarakhand to support local products, leading to a significant positive impact on the livelihoods of local communities and the popularity of products made from ‘Bhoj Patra’.
CM Dhami highlighted that, under the guidance of PM Modi, the state government is actively promoting and branding local products, providing training, packaging, and marketing support to local artisans.
As Independence Day approaches, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of the campaign ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ to honour the sacrifice of the bravehearts. The initiative aims to further connect people with their homeland and pay tribute to those who laid down their lives for the nation.
