Agartala: On July 30, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the ‘Weekend Tourist Hub’ in front of the historic Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala, signalling the government’s commitment to enhance the state’s tourism sector. Sharing the event’s photographs on social media, he expressed his hope that the initiative would attract more tourists and create income opportunities for the state.
The ‘Weekend Tourist Hub’ is a novel concept for Tripura, though it exists in some other states. Chief Minister Saha expressed optimism about its success in the upcoming days. During the inauguration, he stressed the importance of maintaining tight security to ensure a safe environment for tourists, instructing the police to remain vigilant and prevent any potential issues.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder were also present at the event, showing their support for the new tourism facility. Ujjayanta Palace, an essential tourist location in Agartala, already draws visitors with its daily light and sound shows.
The ‘Weekend Tourist Hub’ initiative is expected to boost tourism in the state, providing visitors with unique experiences and adding to Tripura’s appeal as a travel destination.
