Mumbai: A person was apprehended with diamonds worth 1.49 crore rupees. This arrest occurred during customs officials’ investigation at Mumbai Airport. The seized diamond, valued at 1559.6 carats, was confiscated by the customs authorities.
The customs authorities conducted the inquiry after receiving secret information. The diamonds were discovered concealed within a secret compartment of a tea packet. Officials have indicated that additional investigation is underway in order to reveal more details.
On August 11, customs officials at the Kochi airport found gold worth Rs 85 lakh in the lavatory of an Indigo Airlines plane. They discovered 1,709 grams of gold made into a paste form. An investigation has been initiated to further probe into the matter.
