Pathankot: In the early hours of Monday, an attempt by a Pakistani infiltrator to breach the International Border in Pathankot was thwarted as Broder Security Force (BSF) personnel shot and killed the intruder.
Despite receiving repeated warnings, the intruder continued to approach the border fencing, compelling the BSF to take decisive action, according to a statement released by the BSF, Punjab Frontier.
Around 12:30 am, BSF personnel observed suspicious movement near the bordering Simbal Sakol village in Pathankot District. In self-defence, the BSF personnel engaged in gunfire, effectively neutralising the intruder.
This incident has occurred just prior to the upcoming Independence Day celebrations and closely follows a recent event where the BSF successfully eliminated an intruder from Pakistan. The previous infiltration attempt was thwarted along the Pakistani border in Tarn Taran, Punjab.
