Srinagar: Manoj Sinha, the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to swiftly removing any government official found to be compromising national interests. Sinha’s statement came as he lent his support to the decision to dismiss Sajad Ahmad Bazaz, the Chief Manager of J&K Bank. Bazaz’s termination was prompted by revelations of his connections with Pakistan’s ISI.
In this context, the constitution provides a firm framework for taking stringent actions against individuals who secure government positions through illicit means and extend support to separatist agendas. Addressing this issue, Manoj Sinha clarified that Article 311 of the Constitution outlines the procedures for the dismissal and removal of personnel employed within the central and state government sectors.
Pertinently, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti expressed her opposition to the move to dismiss those affiliated with separatist and extremist activities. Mehbooba Mufti had previously noted her disappointment at the dismissal of the sons of Hizbul Mujahideen leader Syed Salahuddin from government positions.
