Bengaluru: Actor Prakash Raj who usually plays antagonist in films had faced a lot of criticism when he came up with a derogatory post after the launch of Chandrayaan-3. Prakash Raj through social media shared a picture of a person making tea in Kerala style as the first picture sent by Chandrayaan from moon. The post did not specify who drew the picture or where he got it from. Prakash Raj, after facing widespread backlash, said that he meant it as a joke. But added, “if you feel otherwise, it was meant for you”. This garnered a lot of criticism and many got agitated by his comment.

But now the original creator of the ‘tea vendor’ picture which Prakash Raj posted has come forward to get the credit he deserves. Bengaluru based artist Gaurav Sharma is the original creator of this picture. He is an expert in creating 3D images and has been in this field for the past fifteen years. He said he drew this three-dimensional image in March 2020 to express his love for the millions of tea vendors in India. But now Prakash Raj is misusing his work without permission. Gaurav said that apart from Prakash Raj, some media houses have also similarly misused the image.

Gaurav Sharma has taken to Facebook to assert his ownership rights over this picture of his, seeking the backing of the public in this matter. He has hinted to the possibility of resorting to legal measures to address the issue.

Meanwhile, Chandrayaan-3’s lander Vikram has successfully touched down on the South Pole of the Moon. Despite this achievement, Prakash Raj continues to face intense criticism, particularly on social media platforms.
