West Bengal BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar slams Mamata govt; calls them Pakistan-loving government and has made Bengal a haven for ISI terrorists

Kolkata: BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar has expressed concerns about the alleged infiltration of Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, in West Bengal. Majumdar accused the state’s administration, led by Mamata Banerjee, of harbouring a pro-Pakistan sentiment, thereby making it a conducive environment for individuals with anti-national intentions and potential Pakistani spies. These remarks come in the wake of the recent arrest of a Pakistani spy.

Majumdar went on to suggest that ISI operatives situated in Pakistan are receiving support from Mamata Banerjee’s government. This assertion underscores the BJP’s stance on the matter and their suspicions about the current administration’s approach to national security.

In a separate incident earlier this year, a controversy arose when students were instructed to label ‘Azad Kashmir’ on the Indian map during their 10th-grade examinations. The term ‘Azad Kashmir’ is employed by Pakistan to refer to the region it occupies, known as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The BJP’s state unit vociferously protested this directive, with Sukanta Majumdar asserting that such actions by the Mamata government were designed to foster an anti-India sentiment among students. Notably, the examination papers are published by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE).
