On August 28, President Droupadi Murmu unveiled a commemorative ₹100 coin in honor of the iconic actor and politician, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), in New Delhi. Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao’s legacy extends across both the realms of cinema and politics. The commemoration took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Culture Centre, with a select group of guests in attendance.
During her address, President Mumu acknowledged that NTR’s portrayal of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna was so compelling that people began to revere him as those divine figures. She emphasized how NTR’s acting also conveyed the pain and sentiments of the common man. President Mumu further highlighted that NTR used his films, notably ‘Manushulanta Okkate,’ to propagate messages of social justice and equality.
The President extended her appreciation to the Ministry of Finance for introducing the NTR commemorative coin during his centenary year.
