Srinagar: The Indian Army recently launched the ‘Paigam-e-Shopian’ community radio station in the Shopian district of south Kashmir to foster better communication and engagement with the youth in Kashmir.
According to the station manager, Sajid Ahmed, the community radio station was established with the primary objective of delivering news and information to the remote villages in the area. He also emphasized that radio can play a crucial role in providing essential guidance to the local youth across different fields and helping raise awareness about various government schemes and programmes. In addition to serving the Shopian district, the radio station’s broadcasts will also reach other areas within South Kashmir.
”This marks Shopian’s first community radio station, and our unwavering commitment has consistently revolved around equipping our listeners with the essential knowledge they require”. Furthermore, it serves as the premier platform for individuals to showcase their talents and skills. He said that he would try to highlight the problems in the country. The community radio station operates with extensive support and involvement from the local community. Many people have come forward to appreciate the steps taken by the Indian Army.
