Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh will close down madrasas engaged in anti-national activities. The Minister of Minority Welfare, Dharmapal Singh, recently announced that Islamic educational institutions found to be working against the nation will be shut down. Reports from the state’s madrasa survey have been received. Those found to be associated with anti-national activities will face closure. Additionally, illegally operating madrasas will lose their affiliation. The minister added that these measures have been initiated under the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The UP government conducted a survey to ensure the provision of basic facilities for students studying in madrasas. The government has also ordered a special inspection of unregistered madrasas. Steps are underway to identify unregistered madrasas in Madhya Pradesh as well.
