New Delhi: On the occasion of National Teachers day, to be celebrated on September 5, President Droupadi Murmu will confer the national teachers’ award 2023 to 75 awardees. The felicitation ceremony would be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, informed the Union Ministry of Education.
The National Teacher’s Award serves as a poignant recognition of the remarkable contributions made by teachers to enhance the quality of education within the nation and elevate the lives of students. These accolades will be conferred personally by President Murmu, herself a former teacher with a profound commitment to education.
This year, a total of 75 remarkable teachers will be honored, each recipient receiving a certificate of merit, a prestigious silver medal, and a monetary reward of Rs 50,000. Furthermore, the honored educators will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as proposed by the Union Ministry.
The rigorous and transparent selection process for these esteemed awards involves the formation of three distinct and independent national juries, comprised of eminent individuals, under the guidance of the Education Minister. These juries painstakingly evaluate and select the most deserving teachers to be honored on this auspicious occasion.
