In an unfolding case, Delhi Police detained a minor on Saturday in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old private tutor in the Jamia Nagar area. The minor reportedly confessed to the crime, explaining that he had taken this drastic step because the tutor, Waseem, had been sexually assaulting him over an extended period.
The minor further claimed that Waseem had not only subjected him to sexual abuse but had also recorded these acts, using the footage to blackmail and manipulate him. The grim discovery of Waseem’s lifeless body occurred on August 30th after a call alerted the police. His body bore severe neck injuries. The property where the body was found belonged to Waseem’s father and had been unoccupied for some time. It’s worth noting that the victim had been residing with his family in Zakir Nagar.
Subsequently, based on their investigative findings, the Jamia Nagar police station registered a murder case and initiated a comprehensive inquiry. Utilising surveillance data, law enforcement successfully identified the minor in question.
According to a police statement, Waseem had allegedly subjected the minor to multiple instances of sexual assault. “The deceased had made a video of the juvenile and threatened him to release the video on social media if he did not oblige him. On August 30, Waseem had called the juvenile for sexually assaulting him at around 11.30 am,” the police statement explained.
The minor, evidently distressed by the repeated assaults, took matters into his own hands and reportedly killed Waseem using a sharp paper cutter. Additionally, investigators have recovered Waseem’s mobile phone, along with the clothes and shoes worn by the minor at the time of the incident.
