Agartala: Tripura police arrested six people of Bangladeshi origin who had entered the country illegally. The arrest took place at Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Airport. The police have initiated legal proceedings under the Indian Passport Act.
The individuals in question were caught while travelling from Agartala to Kolkata. During police interrogation, the six-member group failed to present any valid documents. A case was registered, initiating an investigation into the matter.
Last day, two other Bangladeshi nationals, namely Mohammad Hasif and Mizanur Rahman, were also arrested for infiltrating the Chandrapur area of Tripura. The police confiscated Indian currency and mobile phones from the arrested individuals.
