Punjab: The Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, announced on Wednesday that three individuals with alleged ties to an ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence)-controlled terror module based in Pakistan have been apprehended. The Counter Intelligence team in Bathinda conducted the arrests, seizing eight weapons, nine magazines, and 30 cartridges in the process.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested individuals had communication links with individuals presently lodged in Sangrur jail under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). A case has been registered at the Bathinda Cantt Police Station in connection with the arrests.
Earlier in October, Punjab Police averted potential targeted attacks in the state bordering Pakistan by dismantling a terrorist module, resulting in the arrest of two operatives. During the operation, one pistol and 10 cartridges were seized from their possession, as reported by officials.
Regarding that incident, DGP Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, disclosed that the arrested operatives were supported by Pakistan-based terrorist Rinda and operated under the guidance of US-based gangster Happy Passia.
