Dispur: A terrorist attack occurred near the army gate of the Jorhat military station in Assam. A low-intensity bomb concealed in a trash bin adjacent to the gate was detonated. No casualties were reported from the incident that transpired on Thursday night.
The banned militant outfit, United Liberation Front of Assam—Independent [ULFA (I)], has claimed responsibility for the attack. A joint investigation involving the army and police is underway in the area. The Assam Police has assured that further details regarding the incident will be disclosed soon.
This marks the third assault conducted by ULFA (I) within Assam over the past month. The initial attack occurred on November 22, when a grenade exploded near the gate of an army camp in Tinsukia district. Subsequently, on December 9, the CRPF camp in Joysagar was targeted in another assault.
