New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) prepares to open laboratories for AI-based research. Collaborating with institutes like the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), ISRO aims to pioneer AI-powered experiments, revolutionising various facets of space exploration.
Research is carried out in areas such as trajectory determination for rockets and spacecraft, self-control mechanisms, stability assessments for rockets and satellites, resource mapping, weather forecasting, natural calamity prediction, and the development of robotic technology for space expeditions. The organisation also initiated seminars and workshops serving scientists across various fields.
‘Vyommitra’, a humanoid robot that is included in the GX test mission ahead of the manned space mission named Gaganyaan, will work on AI technology. It can think and act like a human.
