New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) initiated an inspection at the site of the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. Five soldiers were martyred and two were injured during an encounter with terrorists yesterday. A specialised team, led by the Deputy Inspector General and an officer of the Superintendent of Police (SP) rank, conducted an investigation at the spot. Although the case was not handed over to the NIA, the agency voluntarily decided to conduct the investigation.
The attack occurred at Dera Ki Gali (DKG) in the Surankote region, targeting a truck and a Gypsy car carrying soldiers. The hidden terrorists opened fire on the army vehicle. The soldiers of the Rashtriya Rifles unit deployed for anti-terrorist operations were killed in the attack.
