New Delhi: Reports indicate an increase in the confidence of foreign investors in the Indian market, with a substantial investment of over Rs 57,300 crore recorded so far this month. The strong growth in key indicators of the Indian economy and favorable economic growth data are cited as factors directing this upward trend.
The year 2023 has witnessed foreign investments totaling Rs 1.62 lakh crore in the Indian stock market. The surge is attributed to the positive outlook on Bharat’s economic indicators. Anticipation of a potential reduction in US interest rates in the coming year is expected to further enhance foreign portfolio investment (FPI) exposure to the Indian market in 2024.
According to recent data, FPIs have invested Rs 57,313 crore into the Indian stock market this month, marking the highest inflow in a year. October recorded net inflows of Rs 9,000 crore, while in August and September, foreign investors gained Rs 39,300 crore, as per depository data.
The stable and robust economy of the country, coupled with impressive growth in corporate earnings and frequent initial public offerings (IPOs) by various companies, are cited as key factors driving the increased interest and confidence among foreign investors, as per the report.
