NEW DELHI: The French authorities has granted permission for the departure of a flight that had been detained in France since Thursday, carrying 303 Indians.
Sources state that the plane, en route to Nicaragua, was impounded upon landing at Vatry airport near Paris for refueling during its journey from Fujairah Airport in the United Arab Emirates. Reports indicate that the Airbus 340 was seized based on anonymous information regarding human trafficking suspicions.
The aircraft, belonging to the Romanian charter company Legend Airlines, was carrying 303 Indians, including 11 children.
After a three-day investigation into the human trafficking allegations, permission for the flight’s departure has been granted.
However, it remains unclear whether the plane departed for Nicaragua. Airport authorities mentioned that the flight might likely return to Dubai due to the delay in its journey.
