New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to preside over the ‘National PACS Mega Conclave,’ focusing on Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), scheduled to take place at Vigyan Bhavan on January 8. The event is organised by the Ministry of Cooperation in collaboration with the National Development Corporation and is aligned with the initiative to permit more primary credit unions to establish Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras (PMBJP).
Officials from the Ministry of Cooperation and registrars of cooperative societies will participate in the program, organized by the National Development Corporation in conjunction with the Ministry of Cooperation.
As of now, 4400 applications have been received, with 2300 cooperative societies receiving approval. Currently, 149 Jan Aushadhi Kendras operate under Primary Agricultural Credit Societies. These Kendras provide generic medicines at a discount, ranging from 50 to 90 percent. The conclave aims to further enhance the reach of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, making more than 2000 generic medicines and over 300 surgical instruments available through these outlets.
