New Delhi: Heavy fog in New Delhi is causing delays for 22 trains, according to railway officials. The fog, which started this morning, has reduced visibility on the railway tracks, posing risks to train operations. Passengers are advised to be aware of potential delays and exercise caution during their travels.

Several major train services are significantly impacted, with the Ajmer-Katra Puja Express, Jammu Tawi-Ajmer Express, and Firozpur-Seoni experiencing delays of approximately 6.30 hours. The Khajuraho-Kurukshetra Express and Seoni-Firozpur are also running late by around four hours, according to railway authorities.

In addition, 11 trains, including the Delhi-Puri Purushottam Express, Kanpur-Delhi Shram Shakti Express, Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Bengaluru-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express, and Delhi-Saharsa Vaishali Superfast Express, are expected to be delayed by 1.30 hours. Three trains, namely the Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Express, Chennai Central-New Delhi Grand Trunk Express, and Jammu Tawi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, will run approximately two hours behind schedule.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of heavy fog and cold weather in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan in the coming days. Additionally, the IMD forecasts rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in Delhi from January 8 to 10.
