India: After receiving complaints, the Railway Protection Force in the Northern railways undertook an investigation and found that instead of mineral water the tap water were being sold. With the support of the citizens in around 300 places they protested against the malfunctioning of the water supply in the railways.
Over 800 workers including 4 managers of pantry cars were arrested and found 48,860 bottles filled with the tap water. RPF said that after interrogating they got to know that the workers of the pantry car filled the bottles that were disposed off by the people from the tap and sold them with the other branded companies and the reason being an increase in the number of passengers during the summer vacations.
