Chennai: The Southern Railway has introduced two special trains services to Palani, predicting an increase in the number of devotees during the Thaipusam festival in Palani. The special trains will be operational from today until the 28th, specifically catering to passengers travelling in connection with the festival.
The Coimbatore Junction-Dingdigul Express Special (No. 06077) is scheduled to depart from Coimbatore at 9:30 AM, reaching Palani by 1:00 PM. On the return journey, the Dindigul – Coimbatore Unreserved Express Special train (No. 06078) will leave Dindigul at 2:00 PM and arrive in Palani at 5:30 PM.
Covering the Coimbatore-Dindigul sector, these unreserved express trains will pass through Pollachi, Udumalaipettai, and Palani. The train comprises 10 general-class second-class coaches and two luggage-combustible van coaches.
Stops for the train include Podanur Junction, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi Junction, Gomangalam , Udumalaipet , Maivadi Road, Madathukulam, Pushpathur, Palani, Chatrapatti, Oddanchatram, and Akkaraipatti.
