New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again issued a notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy case. He has been directed to appear before the investigating officers on February 2. Prior notices from the ED had summoned Kejriwal for questioning on the 3rd and 18th of this month, which he did not attend. Kejriwal was absent for questioning, and he claimed that the notices were politically motivated in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections.
This marks the latest development in an ongoing investigation, as Kejriwal was previously not present for questioning on November 2 and December 21 last year. Kejriwal was not accused in the initial FIR filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 17, 2023, in the excise policy case.
Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, was arrested by the CBI in February last year after discrepancies were uncovered in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy.
