New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revealed plans to provide free electricity, up to 300 units per month, to 1 crore households through the Rooftop Solar Project. This initiative, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Prana Pratishtha Day in the Ram Temple, aims to make a substantial impact on household energy consumption.
Nirmala Sitharaman also outlined the extension of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme, with the aim of constructing an additional two crore houses in the country over the next five years. Currently, we have successfully completed the construction of three crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme.
The Finance Minister highlighted that, despite the global economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our country’s development work was progressing during those testing times. Additionally, the Finance Minister underscored the Modi government’s achievement in lifting 25 crore people out of poverty.
