The National Old Age Pension stands as a pivotal welfare initiative by the Central Government. This scheme is accessible to individuals aged 60 and above, who have been permanent residents of Kerala for the preceding three years. Successful applicants are entitled to receive a monthly pension of Rs 1600. To apply for the pension, individuals can obtain the application form from local self-governing bodies and submit it to the respective Grama Panchayat, Municipality, or Corporation secretary. Additionally, the recommendation of the ward representative must accompany the application.
Eligibility Criteria: To qualify for the pension, individuals must meet the following criteria
- No person shall be eligible for the pension, if he/she is in receipt of any other Social Welfare pensions.
- No person shall be eligible for the pension, if he/she is admitted to a poor home.
- Having a family annual income of or less than Rs 1,00,000

- Age certificate issued by the medical officer or high school proof in which age is mentioned
- Income Certificate
- Aadhar card
- Residential Certificate
- Passport size photographs
