New Delhi: On the glorious occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the nation commemorates those soldiers who laid down their lives for the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and paid homage to the brave soldiers. He tweeted, ” On the day of Kargil Vijay Diwas, I bow down to the brave sons of our motherland. This day we are reminded of the soldiers’ courage, bravery and dedication. On this occasion, I pay tribute to the valiant soldiers who for the protection of our country sacrificed their lives.”

जय हिंद! pic.twitter.com/f7cpUFLO9o

PM Modi also shared photos when he had visited Kargil in 1999 while working for his party in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

During the Kargil War in 1999, I had the opportunity to go to Kargil and show solidarity with our brave soldiers.

This was the time when I was working for my Party in J&K as well as Himachal Pradesh.
