Thiruvananthapuram: The condition of actress Arundhathi Nair remains critical after sustaining serious injuries in a bike accident at Kovalam on March 15. Her family and friends are struggling to meet the medical expenses at the private hospital, where she is being treated.

Arundhathi’s family has already spent Rs.10 lakh for her medical expenses and is seeking financial help urgently. The family is left with no clue from where to raise money for the actress’ medical treatment.

Arundhathi Nair is the eldest daughter of Muralidharan Nair, a security staff and Anitha. The family resides in a rented house at Pappanamcode in Thiruvananthapuram.

As the actress is not a member of the Malayalam actors’ union, AMMA, (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) her family cannot avail any financial help from the organization.

The accident occurred on the night of March 15, while she was riding pillion on a bike driven by her relative at Kovalam in Thiruvananthapuram. The bike was hit by an auto-rickshaw and Arundhathi fell on the road sustaining severe injuries to her head, shoulders and hands. The auto-rickshaw that caused the accident did not stop and sped away.

She has acted in a few Tamil movies and was also making inroads into Malayalam after appearing in movies such as ‘Ottakoru Kaamukan’ and ‘Virunnu’. She also appeared in a YouTube series named ‘Premier Padmini’.

Arundhathi’s family is seeking urgent financial help from well wishers for her continued medical treatment and has provided the bank details to which money can be send.
