Alappuzha District Collector orders probe into destruction of posters of NDA candidate Sobha Surendran

Alappuzha: The Alappuzha District Collector has ordered an inquiry into the destruction of posters of Shobha Surendran, the NDA candidate in Alappuzha, in Haripad. Alappuzha SP has been tasked with the investigation. The action follows a complaint filed by Shobha Surendran with the Election Commission.

The incident was occurred on March 29th. The posters and flex boards of the Alappuzha NDA candidate Shobha Surendran were defaced near Haripad RK Junction and in the bus stand. The poster of CPI (M) candidate A. M. Ariff was defaced on Shobha Surendran’s posters.

Shobha Surendran has alleged that a special group associated with A. M. Ariff destroyed Shobha Surendran’s election campaign materials. Shobha Surendran stated that legal measures would be pursued and that new flex boards would soon replace the damaged ones.
