Malappuram: A Youth Congress leader from Malappuram has been charged under a non-bailable section for looting funds from the social welfare pension of a deceased man.
The Changaramkulam police have filed a case against the Youth Congress General Secretary of the Malappuram district Hakeem Perumukku regarding this. Hakeem Perumukku has been found accused of siphoning the pension belonging to late Abdullah, a resident of Alamkode, Wayanad. The police initiated the case based on a complaint lodged by Abdullah’s relatives.
Abdullah passed away on December 17, 2019. However, his family members have alleged that they have not received their pension since October of that year. They claim that Hakeem Perumukku misappropriated the funds intended for them.
