Wayanad: The Kerala HC has directed the government and state police chief to ensure necessary facilities for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the probe into Siddharth’s death. The court’s directive comes after the centre notified the court of the CBI taking over the investigation.
The CBI has requested police assistance for the investigation, with the Delhi unit of the agency leading the probe. Siddharth’s father was summoned to Wayanad by the CBI to collect his statement. The process took about an hour at the CBI’s temporary camp.
Recently, the FIR regarding the case was submitted to the CBI court, with the agency adding one more person to the accused list alongside the 20 individuals mentioned in the police FIR.
In addition to the CBI’s investigation, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also initiated inquiries into Siddharth’s death. A team from the commission has arrived in Wayanad and plans to conduct a sitting at Pookode Veterinary College. They will conduct five day sitting at the campus by staying there itself. During their stay, the commission members will gather statements from college employees and hostel students.
