Thiruvananthapuram: After the torrential rainfall in Kerala that triggered flooding has claimed 76 lives across the state, according to a data of Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA).
Malappuram and Wayanad remained the most affected district where many people lost their lives and still missing till Sunday evening.
Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, who represents Wayanad constituency in the Lok Sabha, is on a two-day visit to review the relief measures in the district.
Rahul Gandhi has appealed people to donate water bottles, sleeping mats, blankets, sanitary napkins, biscuits, rice, sugar, vegetables at different collection centres in Malappuram district.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that 80 landslides occurred in the state after the devastating rains began. Landslide is one of the serious threat to human lives, especially for those living on hilly regions.
