Kochi: Much to the relief of the commuters, Kochi metro is all set to extend its services from Maharaja’s college to Thykoodam, that will help the commuters facing traffic jam at Vytilla, Elamkulam and Kadavanthra.
The new phase will be inaugurated by the hands of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday and the operations are likely to begin on Wednesday from five stations – Ernakulam South, Kadavanthra, Elamkulam, Vyttila and Thykoodam. Central Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will preside over the function.
At present, there are 18 trains plying on Aluva-Maharaja’s college route. After commencing the services until Thykoodam there will be 25 trains, increasing the number of daily services.
