Thiruvananthapuram: Arif Mohammed Khan took oath as the new Governor of Kerala on Friday. Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court Hrishikesh Roy administered Khan the oath of office at the Raj Bhawan.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also present for the oath taking ceremony.
After his appointment, Khan had said that his role will be to ensure the democratically elected government in the state functions in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.
Khan has now replaced the constitutional post of Justice (Retd) Palanisamy Sathasivam who was appointed as governor of the state in September 2014.
