Pathanamthitta: The doors of the holy shrine of Sabarimala will be opened this evening for ‘Kanni maasa’ poojas. Head priest V N Vasudevan Namboodiri will lit lamp in the sanctum sanctorum in the presence of thantri Kandaru Mahesh Mohanaru.
Prasads will be distributed and there will be no offerings today. Ghee anointing and other poojas will begin from tomorrow.
After completing poojas, the doors of the temple will be closed at 10 pm on 21st of this month..
Sabarimala temple was opened on 10th for Onam poojas and closed on 13th. Thousands of devotees made their darsan during these Onam holidays.
