Actor Sathar passed away

Kochi: Veteran Malayalam movie actor Sathar passed away this morning at a private hospital in Aluva. He was 67. He had been under treatment since three months.

Sathar, born and brought up at Kadungallur in Ernakulam district, took Masters Degree in History from Union Christian College, Kochi. His debut movie was “Bharyaye avashyamund”, directed by M. Krishnan Nair in the year 1975.

Later in 1976, Sathar played the role of the hero in the film “Anavaranam”, directed by Vincent Master. Film world appreciated Sathar’s villain roles and he made a mark as the best villain of 1970s and 80s.

“Parayan bakki vechath” is the last movie of Sathar, released in 2014. He married the famous Malayalam actress Jayabharathi and later got divorced. He is survived by a son, Krish Sathar.

Cremation will be held at West Kadungallur Juma Masjid in the evening.
