Thiruvananthapuram: In the name of terror alert, the CPM government of Kerala issued a notification that mentions the Sabarimala has been divided into 11 zones for high-security purpose. The notification states that such measures have been taken to safeguard the pilgrims and the temple.

The proceedings are as per the directions of DGP Loknath Behra. The special security zone was declared under Section 83 of the Police Act. According to the Act, the police can take any action on these zones without the permission of the magistrate. This will make it easier for the police to issue injunctions and preventive detentions.

Ilavunkal, Nilakkal base camp, Pampa, Valiyanavattam, Sannidhanam, Pandithavalam, Pullumedu, Uppupara, Kozhikanam and Satram will be covered under special security.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that such an action is undertaken to allow women’s entry to Sabarimala during the Mandala season. It is suspected that this is a move by the government to give entry to women in Sabarimala under the cover of terrorism.

Due to this special Act, police can take strong action against those who oppose the violation of customs.
