Munnar in its fullest: Flower Fest

Idukki : Munnar has set in itself  to surprise the tourists with its magnificent beauty, decorated with the flower festival. Hydel tourism department has organised the flower fest, to attract tourists back to Munnar after the Kerala flood. More than 200 varieties of flowers including indigenous bloom in the fest.

Munnar tourism was running in a low pace, as there was restrictions due to heavy rain. The ban has been lifted and the place is open, to boost the tourism sector, the Hydel has organised the flower fest.

Flowers of different colors from Chrysanthemum, Torenia fournieri, Impatiens psittacina and Ciniya variety from Thailand. Indigenous varieties  including Saleisha, Mary Gold, Lantana, Petrandus, Diandus and Ultrandus secured their position among the 200 varieties of flowers set in the fest.

Aqua Show, Special entertainment of kids is the additional attraction of the show. The entry level fare is only Rs.60/- for adults and Rs.30/ for kids. The festival will go on till 31st of January 2019. The district tourism officials expect on boarding of more visitors to Munnar with the fest going on.
