Udupi: Two main accused in the incident relating to the shooting of ASI at Kaliyakkavilai, have been arrested by the Tamil Nadu’s Q branch.
Thoufeeq and Abdul Shameem have been arrested from Karnataka’s Udupi Railway station.
After the murder, the accused managed to escape inside a nearby mosque. Eight persons were arrested from Karnataka and Kerala in connection with the murder.
The police had confirmed that the banned terrorist organization had links with the ASI murder. Ijaz Pasha, who was one of the five arrested in connection with the banned terrorist organization Al-Ummah, told police that Taufeeq and Abdul Shameem were handed over a gun got from Mumbai in Bengaluru.
Further evidence emerged that the killing was planned in Kerala. Two days before the shooting, the accused reached Neyyattinkara.
The deceased Assistant Sub Inspector Wilson was shot dead at the check-post in Kaliyakkavilai, which is on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.
